Rework method for reprogramming the Sensor pcb board on the Candy Washer dryers 31000932, 31000938 and 31000955.

Reason for Rework.



A fault condition has been identified where the software version loaded in to the sensor pcb module fitted in the lower rear portion of the product causes the washer dryer to automatically start a tumble drying phase after every wash program regardless of the customer selecting the drying phase.

Extent of the models affected.

This rework is only to be carried out of the models listed below and included in the serial number range provided.

Serial numbers outside these ranges should not be subjected to this rework as the fault does not exist in those machines.

Method of Rectification.

A new software file needs to be loaded into the dryer sensor pcb board 41014754. The software version required is identified as v65B.

After rectification the product will be identified with a label showing v65B s/w affixed to the lower edge of the rear access panel area.

Products already carrying this label do not need further reprogramming.

Method of Reworking packed products.

Step

Action

Visual indication.

Confirm serial number of product is within the range of products affected.

Confirm by reading barcode label on the rear of the product.

With a sharp knife, carefully cut through the rear and both sides of the polythene shrink-wrap bag along the line of the top edge of the polystyrene base tray, leaving the front face of the machine uncut.

Tip the machine forward allowing the product to rest against its top edge. This will give access to the bottom of the product.

Remove the two sensor pcb securing screws from the underside of the rear flange.

Reach inside and carefully locate and expose the sensor pcb board.

Attach programming device to un used terminal connector .

Confirm display shows F and press start button.

Confirm the programming has been completed by means of the display showing. UP

Disconnect the programming device and refit the sensor pcb board back into the rear of the machine .

Note: An alignment peg is included in the moulding to allow alignment of the fixing holes.

Once alignment is achieved. Use the two fixing screws and secure to the cabinet rear flange.

Ensure the polystyrene support block is in the correct position.

Then lower the product back into its base tray.

Affix label to rear lower edge of the access panel opneing v65B S/W to indicate product is reprogrammed.

Aside machine for rebagging with new shrink-wrap.

Note: 10% of initial products reworked are to be subjected to a functional test of the tumble drying system to ensure the system is operating after the reprogramming phase. This audit will be subject to change based on findings.
