MAKE YOUR OWN UFS CABLE
FOR LG AND SETOOL2
You need your old SE cable, 3 DB9 (RS232) connectors (one male and two female), and of course LG phone connector.
Female DB9 Male DB9
We’ll modify your old SE cable, that came along with one of yours Saras boxes. Don’t worry, you’ll still be able to us it.
*Now there are two types of SE cables: older, without RSA testpoint ; and newer, with pw supply crocodile clip and RSA testpoint needle.
**We’ll show making LG cable out of older cable first. Here it is at the picture.
A) Cut the cable between the cable electronics housing and the phone connector.
B) You’ll see 8 wires inside. Put male DB9 connector on the part with cable electronics, solder pins in this order: pin 1-red, 2-orange, 3-yellow, 4-blue, 5-black, 6-green, 7-purple, 8-brown.
Notice that DB9 pin numbers are numerated !!!
C) Put female DB9 on the phone connector part of the cable, assembling pins in the same order (1-red, 2-orange, 3-yellow, 4-blue, 5-black, 6-green, 7-purple, 8-brown)
There you have Your old cable back, fully working.
Or, maybe this is more like it:
Now for those with newer type of cable, with RSA testpoint.
**This is Your type of cable. It has 9 wires inside.
A) Cut it the same way as the other one, between phone connector and cable electronics, ofcourse, separate wires, put solder on them.
B) Put male DB9 connector on thois part of the cable, connecting pins in the following order:
1-black, 2-white, 3-orange, 4-brown, 5-blue, 6-yellow, 7-purple, 8-green, 9-red .
C) Put female DB9 on the phone connector part of the cable. Solder wires in the same order
(1-black, 2-white, 3-orange, 4-brown, 5-blue, 6-yellow, 7-purple, 8-green, 9-red ).
When You connect male to female DB9, wire colours must match (red to red, blue to blue, etc).
Now, the type of connector for LG you acquired may vary… So here is the pin out for LG, with only IMPORTANT pins shown:
So, pins 2 and 21 are connected, and all the rest You need are pins 4, 17, 18, and 19.
Let’s make the cable for LG now.
Procedure is the same for owners of both SE cables !!!
Take Your LG connector and connect to DB9 like this :
-pin 4 from LG connector to pin 5 of DB9,
-pin 17 from LG connector to pin 3 of DB9,
-pin 18 from LG connector to pin 2 of DB9, and
-pin 19 from LG connector to pin 8 of DB9.
And here is Your self made cable:
Again, it can look more prettier than this ;)
And there you go, If You’ve done everything right, You have auto-ignition cables for SE and LG, two in one.
