Line output transistor blows at switch on or after only 10 mins
Check / replace C2546 (8.2nF) and C2550 (390nF)

Scart socket will not switch video over but does switch sound correctly
This was due to the TMP47C634-2676

BUT11AF s/c after p.s.u kit fitted and set runs in standby, ok in normal run mode
Check / replace D6612 and D6614 (check drive waveform to BUT11, switch on delay probably missing)

Dead (p.s.u repair kit fitted), H.T low at 40v R3616 (100ohms) had risen to 1K

Dead, BUT18AF s/c in p.s.u
The flyback tuning capacitor C2546 (8.2nF,2kV) was low value and the E.H.T lead was s/c

Dead, fuse shattered Fit power supply service kit

Dead, H.T low at 20v (isolate pin 3 of l.o.p.t and set starts) This can be due to a short on the 12v rail or possibly Q7284 may be responsible

Dead, s/c in line output stage The scan coupling capacitor C2550 (390nF,250v) was s/c and bulging

Goes dead with standby l.e.d unlit if switched to standby by remote
If switching the set on and off at the mains restores normal operation suspect the 20v zener diode D6657

Int dead Check for dry joints on chip resistor R3619

Int partial field collapse
Suspect the 1ohm chip resistor in the emitter of the BD234 field output transistor on underside of pcb

Int start, no standby Check 20v zener D6657

Non linear field scan Replace C2509 (2.2uF,50v)

Poor sound on left hand speaker on nicam only IC7530 and IC7531 (LM833) - one left hand one right hand

Search tune scans but will not stop when a channel is found
Check pin 13 of the TDA2579 for 0v rising to 9v when a signal is present, suspect C2451 (0.01uF) then the i.c itself

Width varying with brightness of picture Check for leakage of C2526 (8.2nF)

Will not start up, p.s.u squeals, voltages lower than normal
The sound i.c was defective, after replacement the p.s.u protection was active, replaced 7281 and 7282 (BC848) near the sound i.c

G110 PTV

Excessive width
Check / replace C2549 (10uF,50v) in the ew correction circuit

Intermittently not wanting to start up, or screen flashes a few times on startup and then unit shuts down, sometimes standby LED displays standby mode, other times it shuts off completely during this fault Replaced all high voltage and smaller electrolytics on neck boards, main and convergence boards - found that many of them (around 30) were low capacitance or o/c, TV now works fine. This particular unit was built in 1990
