Version 2.0

Version 2.0 works only with special proprietary hardware.

There are two version of interface: SmartVAG (Serial) and BlueVAG (Bluetooth). SmartVAG and BlueVAG contains embedded firmware that implements high reliable proprietary protocol and guarantee very fast and stable ECUs connection, they also works as dongle for VAG-Check 2.0 activation. Interfaces are user firmware upgradable to guarantee your investment for the future.

You can buy your 2.0 compatible interface here.

VAG-Check 2.0 is NOT compatible with old Optocoupler/MAX232 based interface!

Version 1.2 and older

Jeff's board has been modified in order to obtain a more compact and OBD connector integrated board (for more details and schematics please refer to https://www.planetfall.com/~jeff/obdii/).

Here the obtained result! Wires are directly weld to the circuit.

IMPORTANT!

If you connect your Jeff's interface (or that described here) with normal serial PDA<->PC syncro cable, you MUST insert a Null Modem adapter between two cables, otherwise you couldnt establish any unit communication!

From version 1.1.1 VAG-Check supports Socket Serial CF adapter that doesn't need null-modem!

Null Modem adapters are not all the same!
Table below shows serial 9 pins Null Modem pinouts that works.
